Upholding Ukraine

In 2012, I had the blessing of coming to Donetsk, Ukraine.  During my seminary years at Denver Seminary. I have heard in multiple occasions Dr. Ray Prigodich talk about the country, the people, the ministry, and the strategic alliance with the seminary there. On my first trip, I was able to see the beautiful facilities of the seminary and met Ukrainian pastors that were in the trenches proclaiming the gospel.

At that time, there was constant fear about a Russian invasion, which finally happened in 2014.  The seminary was finally occupied by the Russian army, and they lost the facilities. During that trip, I also met Sasha & Sveta Moseychuk, a leader who was proclaiming the gospel, ministering to people with addictions, the blind, the homeless, the poor, the trouble teenagers, and feeding those in need. They had invested over $300,000 to remodel a Ministry Center that in 2014 was occupied overnight and taken over by the Russian army.  They had to flee for their lives and the powerful ministry was destroyed.

As I see the news today of what is happening in Ukraine, I can’t just watch what is happening and not try to do something about it. I would like to come alongside of leaders like Sasha and others who need not only prayer but providing funds to help them rebuild their lives and settle maybe in other countries.

I am partnering with my friend Peter Yaruchyk, a Ukrainian-descent pastor from Paraguay who I travelled with in 2012.  He speaks Spanish, English, Russian and Ukrainian.  He understands firsthand the suffering of being a refugee because his family immigrated to Paraguay after World War II.

We need your help; Peter and I are strategizing of possible ways to help Ukraine during this crisis.  But we can’t do it alone, we need churches, businesses, organizations, individuals to come together and help support the Ukraine Relief Project that we have launch. 100% of your donation will go to help with this situation.

Each church is independent and autonomous and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that, therefore, Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from the dictation or patronage of the other.

We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and associated for worship, work and fellowship.

We believe that to these visible churches were committed for observance “until He comes,” the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper; and that God has laid upon these churches the task of persuading a lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master. We believe that righteous living, good works and proper social concern are essential products of the gospel.

We believe, therefore, that those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will rejoice forever in God’s presence and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God.
We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His high priestly intercession for His people and His personal, visible return to the world according to His promise.
