The rewards of serving the Lord

I love being a pastor and church planter. Don’t get me wrong; there are days when I would prefer to stay in bed! But (most of the time). I am so grateful to be a part of what God is doing in His world as He redeems and transforms people’s lives.

My wife Hannah and I, along with our boys (Jack, 8, and Owen, 5), moved to Manchester, England, in 2018 to plant Trinity Church over the past four years. We’ve experienced God doing amazing things in the lives of ordinary people. Even in a secular city where only 2% of the almost 3 million people living in the metro area attend church, we’ve repeatedly seen that the gospel message is the power of God to save.

Paul told Titus that the grace of God both offers us salvation and teaches us to live godly lives (Titus 2:11-12). It is a joy each day to both receive that transforming grace myself and share it with other people. Through our ministry, we have celebrated baptisms, seen people turn away from sin, and spiritually dry people wake back up and fall in love with Jesus all over again. And above all, we have watched as our church continues to grow and grow.

Recently a young woman came to church for the first time. She’s a single mother whose boyfriend died years ago, and life is often complicated. But, at the service’s end, she told me, “It was like your message was just for me!”

This is the fruit of partnership. This is what happens when we serve Jesus together. This is what the gospel of grace does.

Thanks for standing with us, prayerfully and financially, in the cause of the gospel here in the UK.

Hebrews 12:28

“Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe”

Each church is independent and autonomous and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that, therefore, Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from the dictation or patronage of the other.

We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and associated for worship, work and fellowship.

We believe that to these visible churches were committed for observance “until He comes,” the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper; and that God has laid upon these churches the task of persuading a lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master. We believe that righteous living, good works and proper social concern are essential products of the gospel.

We believe, therefore, that those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will rejoice forever in God’s presence and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God.
We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His high priestly intercession for His people and His personal, visible return to the world according to His promise.
