Understanding the Call for Missions

The need to share the gospel with those who haven’t heard it burns ever brighter in today’s world. This urgency fuels a desire to proclaim the Good News worldwide, motivating people to answer the call to missions.

This call is an immense honor, not a burden or a path to personal gain. The Apostle Paul embodies this spirit, declaring he would rather die than miss the opportunity to preach. Missionaries embrace humility, recognizing they are chosen instruments of God’s grace. This demands a lifelong commitment to learning, growing, and relying on His guidance and strength.

The privilege of missions comes with significant sacrifice, risk, and hard work. Leaving familiar comforts for the unknown is challenging but necessary to reach those who haven’t heard the gospel. This obedience isn’t about our talents but His power working through us. It’s a mandate from Jesus Himself, demanding unwavering dedication and faithfulness regardless of the difficulties.

God calls missionaries in diverse ways, showcasing His creativity and respect for individuality. Some find their calling in Scripture, revealing His heart for the nations. Others experience an inner conviction or receive an invitation from another believer or pastor. Whether dramatic or a quiet, persistent pull, each calling is valid and significant in God’s eyes.

Trusting in God’s Strength and Guidance

When answering God’s call, self-doubt about our abilities is natural. However, His call is based on His power working through us, not our own. As His instruments, our responsibility is to believe His promises and follow His instructions. Saying “amen” to God’s call allows His power to work through us, fulfilling His mission. Ultimately, it’s God’s strength, not ours, that accomplishes the work of the gospel.

The Role of Every Christian

While every Christian can participate in missions somehow, answering God’s specific call requires trusting in His strength, not our own. With faith, we overcome limitations and join His redemptive mission for humanity. Let’s persistently share His message, confident that God equips us to reach the ends of the earth, one life at a time.

At GlobalOne80, we support over 80 missionaries across four continents, highlighting God’s call to spread the gospel in previously unheard areas. Please read their stories, pray, and consider donating to help them serve our Lord.

1 Corintios 9:16

For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
