Tyrel and Natalie live and work in one of the most atheistic countries in the world, the Czech Republic. Tyrel uses his background and passion for media and new technology to spread the gospel in the local media industry and encourage, train, and empower the local church to apply media and new technology to reach their country for Christ. Natalie works in politics and business to influence her home country toward revival in Christ.
Journey
Tyrel was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, to a Christian family and grew up attending Scottsdale Bible Church. Through the spiritual influence of his family, Sunday school, and AWANA, Tyrel decided to follow Christ at an early age. Tyrel started his missional journey by making short-term trips with his church’s high school ministry. He first visited the Czech Republic in 2003 on a short-term mission trip to serve at an evangelistic English camp. Tyrel’s wife, Natalie, a native Czech, came to faith in Christ through the witness of her local church youth group and English camps. Tyrel returned to serve at these English camps in the summers while pursuing his other passion: visual storytelling as a director working on films, television shows, and web series.
Tyrel and Natalie met at an English camp in 2009, where Natalie served as the camp translator. Their friendship grew over years of serving alongside one another at English camps. Tyrel moved to the Czech Republic in 2015 to work full-time as a media specialist for the Josiah Venture missions’ organization. Tyrel and Natalie were married in January 2018 and made their home in Prague.
Now serving with Global One80, Tyrel uses his skills and passion in media and new tech to develop the concept of video evangelism further and share the gospel through film and his relationships with people in the film industry. Likewise, Natalie is pursuing the inroads she has to be a light in business and politics.
