Ministry Journey

Focus

Alvaro is currently working with a team of Costa Rican pastors, giving the Interface Seminar to other pastors in Latin America and challenging them to transform their churches into missional churches, where every believer sees life on mission with God as the normal Christian life.

Also, in his local church in Costa Rica, he is very active, working with pastors and developing and adapting a missional vision lifestyle in their community.

Journey

Alvaro studied at Columbia International University Seminary in South Carolina, USA. He has more than 15 years of ministry experience; he was a youth pastor for 7 years and also worked for more than 8 years as one of the pastors of the Casa 2:42 Church in Escazu, San Jose, Costa Rica.

In 2008, an experience in North Africa transformed his life, showing him God’s love for Muslims and the need for workers among the least reached in the world.

Since 2010, he has been involved in mobilizing, serving as the national coordinator for Perspectives, and contributing to its development in Latin America.

He is currently the national coordinator of Simply Mobilizing, developing the organization at the national level with his team and being part of the regional team as well.

This ministry seeks to develop churches with a missional vision, committing them to return to the missional DNA of the early church. Through various resources, SM seeks to mobilize all of God’s people to be on mission with God and also to empower the mobilizers.

In recent years, it has focused on mobilizing workers in Southeast Asia and working to develop missional churches at the national level in Costa Rica and Latin America.
