Focus

Eliana is one of the missionaries currently serving at “Abide,” a church in Osaka, Japan. Her vision and that of her sending church is to strengthen the local church through culturally effective evangelism and discipleship so that, as believers come to know God more deeply, they may bear fruit and be strengthened with all His glorious power to have all the perseverance and patience they need (Colossians 1:9-12).

Journey

Eliana was born and raised in Hermosillo, Sonora, in northern Mexico. She grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until she was 10 years old, at a summer camp, that the gospel finally clicked in her heart and she surrendered her life to Jesus, her Savior.

From a very young age, she began serving in her local church until she was 27, when she moved to Osaka in 2025. For the most part, her ministry focused on teaching and discipleship, working with everyone from children to women. She led the young women’s study group, served as a teacher in the women’s ministry, and provided biblical counseling to teenagers and young women. She also served in evangelism through various relationships with friends and at school.

From childhood, God placed a desire for missions in her heart, but it wasn’t until 2021 that the time came to act. In late 2022, after confirming her calling with her leaders, she began her two-year training with Missioserve before being sent out.

She is currently studying the culture and language while serving at Abide and is building relationships with non-believing Japanese people through classes and hobbies so that he can eventually reach out to them.
