Bethlehem Farm is a community outreach ministry located in a remote region of Nicaragua. Its mission is to foster holistic community development by providing vocational training that equips individuals with practical life and workforce skills, all grounded in biblical principles.
A central component of the ministry is Door of Love, its children’s outreach program, which seeks to strengthen families and communities through the proclamation of the Gospel. Recognizing that many children in rural Nicaragua have limited access to education and proper nutrition, the ministry regularly visits families in their homes to assess their needs and provide both practical assistance and spiritual encouragement. These relationships often open the door to church planting and long-term discipleship within the communities they serve.
The ministry also invests in university students who are pursuing higher education in order to expand their career opportunities. By assisting with transportation, computer access, and other educational resources, the team helps students overcome barriers that might otherwise prevent them from completing their studies.
Another key initiative is the greenhouse project, which promotes sustainable food production while teaching agricultural practices that cover the entire growing process—from soil preparation and planting to harvesting. The program provides women from the communities surrounding Bethlehem Farm with practical skills that can lead to employment opportunities, increased household income, and greater economic stability for their families.
Additionally, every three years the ministry partners with students from a Nicaraguan agricultural university to organize short-term mission teams at Bethlehem Farm. During these outreach trips, students participate in agricultural development projects while gaining hands-on experience in community service, sustainable agriculture, and Christian ministry.
