When is the church going to learn that “systemic racism” is a sin?” Many
Christians only see “selective sins”, like systemic homophobia or systemic sexism. We should know better than that.
Minority communities are tired of being labeled, rejected, lynched, mocked,
segregated, caged, tortured, slaved, etc. It will take years to build trust. It will not be solved with a “reconciliation prayer meeting” or a public hug to people of color. But also, the majority culture has been bulked as one, when I know it is not the case. All people have to deal with racism in their hearts. So, it will require true confession and change of action in each one of us. A change of HEART that only God could do it. Start a process of healing that might take a lifetime.
Yes, people are hurt; yes, people are tired; yes, people are angry. Lord, I pray
that you heal our hearts, they are broken, they are sad, they are sick. We need a NEW HEART.
“I will give you a new heart and put anew spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
